Materials

What metals do you use?

All our jewellery is made of 100% recycled sterling silver and 100% recycled gold vermeil.

Does recycled metal mean lower quality?

Not at all. Recycled gold and sterling silver have the same quality as freshly mined metals because they can both be recycled with little to no degradation of their characteristics. We use recycled gold and sterling silver so our customers can enjoy exclusive jewellery that lasts, while minimizing our environmental impact.

Where do you source your diamonds?

All the diamonds used for our jewellery are lab-grown, meaning they are 100% conflict and industrial-mining free.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Lab grown diamonds are compositionally identical to their natural counterparts, both are made of pure carbon.

Gold vermeil

What is gold vermeil?

Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-mayis gold applied to sterling silver or brass. The gold layer thickness must be more than 2.5 microns. We use 18 carat gold for our gold vermeil, which is the highest percentage of gold alloy suitable for jewellery. Both the gold outer and sterling silver base we use are 100% recycled.

How long does gold vermeil jewellery last?

Gold vermeil jewellery is more durable than gold plated, due to its thicker layer of gold. Pieces will last even longer if they are cared for properly. To do this, we recommend you:

  • Keep your jewellery away from liquids and humid environments
  • Use a soft, dry polishing cloth to remove any dirt by gently wiping your jewellery in one direction, and avoid harsh cleaning products
  • Store it in its protective pouch or box when not wearing it

Is gold vermeil real gold?

Yes, gold vermeil is real gold. Our gold vermeil uses recycled 18 carat gold on recycled sterling silver.

How is gold vermeil different to gold plated?

Gold vermeil and gold plating are both gold layered onto a base metal. But gold vermeil is a distinct and superior material for several reasons.

Thickness of gold: The minimum thickness for gold vermeil is 2.5 microns or more, whereas gold plating requires a minimum thickness of 0.5 microns.

Base material: Our gold vermeil is gold plated on sterling silver or brass. When the sterling silver base comes from recycled sources, the result is high quality jewellery with greater sustainability.

Durability: Because of the thicker layer of gold used for gold vermeil and the electrolysis technique used in its plating process, it offers a more durable option for jewellery when compared with gold plated. Gold plated can provide benefits for its lower price point, but the high quality of gold vermeil is the best option for gorgeous jewellery that you can wear for years to come.

Jewellery care

How should I look after my jewellery?

When not wearing your jewellery

  • Store pieces individually in their pouch or box to avoid rubbing, scratching, and tangling.
  • Store them in a cool, dry and dark place, such as a drawer or jewellery box.
  • Silver jewellery should be stored in an airtight plastic bag or box to reduce oxidation.

When wearing your jewellery

  • Avoid your jewellery encountering beauty products and lotions like perfume, hairspray, make up, sunscreen, deodorant, and skin oils.
  • Wear silver jewellery often to slow down oxidation.

I live in a humid environment – how can I take care of my jewellery?

Store your jewellery in an airtight bag or box along with a packet of desiccant crystals to reduce tarnishing.

How should I clean my jewellery?

Gold vermeil and sterling silver jewellery are easily cleaned at home. We recommend using a dry, soft fibre polishing cloth on all your gold vermeil pieces. To remove any dirt or moisture, gently brush your jewellery in one direction.

If necessary, use a soft toothbrush with mild solution of washing-up liquid diluted with lots of water. Then, rinse your jewellery with water and make sure it’s pat dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

We recommend staying away from the harsh chemicals used in jewellery dips, abrasive jewellery cleaners and jewellery polishing cloths – all of these can degrade the condition of your jewellery over time and eventually destroy it.

Should I remove my jewellery when washing/swimming?

Yes, to retain the shine and lustre of our gold and sterling silver pieces, we recommend that you remove your jewellery to avoid its contact with water.

Salt water and fresh water contain minerals that damage precious metals. The chlorine in swimming pools is particularly damaging for gold and sterling silver and can lead to permanent discoloration.

Soapy water can leave a thin film that makes pieces appear faded and dull, so we do recommend also removing our jewellery when washing, including rings.

Ring sizing

How do I know which ring size to order?

To find your ring size, wrap a piece of string around your finger and mark the spot where the two ends meet. Measure the length with a ruler and compare it with the size guide below to find your nearest ring size. If your ring size is in between two measurements, we recommend going with the larger size.

If you are unable to find your ring size with this method, many local jewellery shops will be happy to measure your finger for free.

Download and print the ring size chart here.

What ring sizes do you offer?

We currently offer rings in sizes EU 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60 (suject to different products).

We have partnered with a Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) certified factory, where we produce all our pieces. Being RJC certified means that our factory ensures the highest standards regarding supply chains, business ethics, health & safety, human rights, and social & environmental performance.
